Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Cross2Chain swaps.
Is Cross2Chain custodial?+
No. Cross2Chain never holds, stores, or controls your funds. All swaps execute directly through Chainflip, a decentralized cross-chain protocol. We are a monitoring layer — not a custodian.
What happens if my swap fails?+
If a swap fails during execution, your funds are returned to the refund address you provided. The swap timeline will show a "Refunded" status. Refund times depend on the underlying protocol and network congestion, but typically take 30–60 minutes.
What fees does Cross2Chain charge?+
A small affiliate fee (typically 0.2%) is included in every quote. This fee is transparently shown before you confirm the swap. There are no hidden fees. Network fees for the source and destination chains are also displayed in the quote breakdown.
How long does a swap take?+
BTC to ETH swaps typically complete in 15–45 minutes. ETH to BTC swaps take 20–60 minutes. The exact time depends on network congestion, the number of required confirmations, and the provider used.
What is the Protection Score?+
The Protection Score (0–100) evaluates how safe your swap is before you commit. It checks address validity, amount thresholds, slippage levels, quote freshness, and provider reliability. A higher score means lower risk. Swaps below the safety threshold will show warnings.
Which providers do you support?+
Cross2Chain uses Chainflip as its sole swap provider. Chainflip supports native cross-chain swaps between Bitcoin, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Solana, and Polkadot using a simple deposit channel model.
Can I cancel a swap after sending funds?+
Once you send funds to the deposit address, the swap cannot be cancelled. Transactions are processed by decentralized protocols that operate autonomously. Always verify all details — addresses, amounts, and direction — before sending.
What addresses are supported?+
For BTC: Native SegWit (bc1q...), Taproot (bc1p...), and Legacy (1...) addresses. For ETH: Standard Ethereum addresses (0x...). Always double-check the address format before confirming.
Is there a minimum or maximum swap amount?+
Yes. Typical minimums are 0.0001 BTC or 0.01 ETH. Typical maximums are 10 BTC or 100 ETH. These limits may vary by provider and are enforced to ensure successful execution and protect against excessive slippage.
How do I track my swap?+
Every swap shows a real-time timeline with status updates: deposit detection, source chain confirmations, swap execution, and destination settlement. Your recent swaps are saved locally in your browser and can be viewed on the History page.
Do I need to create an account?+
No. Cross2Chain requires no registration, no account, and no KYC. Enter your addresses, confirm the quote, and send your funds. Swap history is stored locally in your browser.
How does the swap work?+
Cross2Chain opens a Chainflip deposit channel for your swap. You send funds to a unique deposit address, and Chainflip handles the cross-chain execution natively. No smart contract interaction or wallet connection required — just a simple transfer.
